Abstract Work Package 3 in the Biomass Value Chain Model (BVCM) project had two objectives: firstly, to carry out a landscape review of the technologies used to transform raw biomass feedstocks into useable final products; and secondly, to develop a technology database, which could be used as an input to the value chain optimisation model developed in Work Package 2. This technology landscaping report was also the starting point of the technology roadmap exercise carried out in Work Package 4 for those technologies identified as having significant deployment potential by the value chain optimisation.
