Objectives (BD2631) To produce guidance documentation for the new Code for Sustainable Homes so that credits and scoring criteria are clearly understood. Summary of results: This project was set up to provide support in producing a technical guide to accompany the launch of the Code for Sustainable Homes. The Code was launched in April 2007 and is now mandatory for all new public sector housing. Further updates to the technical guidance will be carried out under a new contract in FY 2007/8.
Abstract The Code for Sustainable Homes was launched by DCLG in December 2006 and will be mandatory for all new public housing from April 2007. The purpose of the new Code is to encourage robust sustainable design of new homes across a broad range of environmental criteria.
